So why did I mention this? Well An and I went to a 21st party tonight with Jo (not with David because he wasn’t invited, but Jo should have just brought him anyway). It was a fundamentalist christian party so that meant no booze, no ‘offensive music’ and generally no fun. This of course led me to buy a bottle of wine, sing ‘Pussy Town’ every now and again, and mock the christians at every possible opportunity (this was fun, trust me). The wine was wonderful by the way; it was an Italian moscato. Very light and fruity.

Anyway, I’ve been to a few of these things because they’re An’s friends from school. At every single one there is invariably a celebration of the 21ster’s life, followed directly by a self-esteem shattering removal of credit from them to their god instead. I would find it extremely insulting if I’d worked hard to achieve something, or to be a decent person only to have an authority figure come along and tell them that it’s not something they can be proud of because god meant it to happen. Or they’re only a good person because god is guiding them. Or whatever. Disagree with me? Well post a comment (fuck knows nobody else does!) and I’ll argue my point in more detail.

Anyway, we’re watching “Good Eats” now so I’m off! Alton is talking about jamming
